Case Awards for Social Security
Awards
The Case Award in your claim is the amount of benefits the Social Security Administration (SSA) will allow you to receive if you are determined to be disabled. The amount of your award depends on numerous factors including how much you have worked in the past 10 years and your total household income. Your award can consist of multiple types of Social Security benefits depending on what benefits you applied for and is paid to you monthly by the SSA.
If you apply for Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), then your award will include money for your disability and any back pay if you are deemed to be disabled before your date last insured as well as an SSI payment. However, if you apply for SSD or SSI only, you will receive only one type of award.
Your ability to apply for SSD or SSI depends on numerous factors. If you have any questions about what type of benefits you should apply for or would like us to help you with your Social Security claim, please contact us at 800-842-0426.
